Plateau Area Writers Association members aim to be proficient in the literary arts. As a result many have authored books, poems, essays, short stories and articles. Some even get paid for their written work.

The current members are from Auburn, Black Diamond, Buckley, Enumclaw, Greenwater, Hobart, Kent, Lake Tapps, Maple Valley, Puyallup, Renton, Seattle, Sumner, as well as California and Michigan.
